Horus-name
Several different variants of the Horus-name of this king have been found. In some cases, this name was written without the characterisic Horus-falcon and/or the serekh. It is not clear if the different variants represent different stages of the king's reign.
The transcription and meaning of each name are uncertain. The currently accepted reading Narmer is a mere convention.
